Freya Josephine Hollick’s new single, Me & Mine is a captivating “call to arms,” lifted from her long-awaited record, The Real World.
Small town songbird, Freya Josephine Hollick has unveiled her brand-new single, Me & Mine. The strong, spellbinding tune is lifted from her forthcoming, long-awaited third studio album, The Real World, due for worldwide release on September 30 via Cheersquad Records & Tapes.
Written during a time when a myriad of pressing societal issues coincided with Trump’s political reign over the US, Me & Mine is a captivating war cry for society’s misfits, outcasts and underdogs.
Freya’s unique, soulful and bewitching sound, self-described as “cosmic country soul melancholia” glistens throughout Me & Mine. Across the three-and-a-half-minute track, beautifully arranged and flawlessly-produced instrumentals perfectly accompany her smooth and effortlessly evocative vocals.
“Me and mine was written as a call to arms of all the misfits, the ousted, those who live on the fringes of society trying to make ends meet under an outdated capitalist regime,” explains Hollick. “For all my artist friends, for all those pressed under the thumb of those that seek to eradicate originality. A boogie for the underdog.”
Three years in the making, Freya’s highly-anticipated third LP, The Real World will mark a new chapter in the songstress’ career, who has recently signed with Cheersquad Records & Tapes. If her latest offering, Me & Mine is anything to go by, we cannot wait to immerse ourselves in the entire record in late September.
