The guy who shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker and stole her French bulldogs last year has received a 21-year prison sentence.
The man who shot and injured Lady Gaga’s dog walker and stole her French bulldogs in February of 2021 has now accepted a plea deal and received a jail sentence of 21 years.
As reported by ABC News, James Howard Jackson was “one of three men and two accomplices who participated in the violent robbery and its aftermath.” According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Jackson “pleaded no contest to one count of attempted murder” on Monday (December 5).
After her dog walker, Ryan Fischer was shot in Hollywood last year, Gaga offered up a $500K (USD) reward to anyone who had seen beloved dogs, named Koji and Gustav, following their theft. Fortunately, they were returned to the pop star days later by Jennifer McBride, who was also reportedly charged.
As formerly stated by prosecutors, Jackson and his accomplices were driving around Gaga’s area on February 24, 2021, “looking for French bulldogs.” Their alleged motive for the theft was the value of the French bulldogs. However, detectives claim the connection to Gaga was a mere coincidence, and the perpetrators were unaware that the dogs belonged to the Just Dance hitmaker.
