George Maple – Talk Talk

There are a few people I have come across, famous and non famous, that I think I may have legitimately fallen in love with or want to be . I can’t decide, it’s a very fine line. George Maple is one of those people.

Sydney’s George Maple is making waves in the UK with her unassuming and smooth electronica that is super seductive. The latest track Talk Talk is silky as with its soft and soulful vocals.

In an interview with American magazine “Interview”, the Sydney local says “All of my friends from school are in accounting and marketing—things like that, but I just don’t think I would have ever been happy. “

She’s living that super cool life that everyone wants , and on top of that she’s making some pretty sweet tunes. The Northern Beaches girl is currently living in London but is constantly on the move due to the inspirational influence it has on her writing, “I do it quite a lot—just pack up and leave—because it doesn’t really faze me where I live. I like that when I’m writing: new experiences and people and places.”

She attended this year’s SXSW music conference, and toured in New York with Flight Facilities and Puerto Rico with Toro Y Moi. She’s sounding cooler and cooler by the second.

Her debut track Fixed was released in April this year, followed up by her current track Talk Talk. Maple is creating some really nice unassuming and simple electronica that is super seductive and highly addictive. She has a certain smoothness to her voice, which she combines with underlying synthy basslines and lyrics that channel The Weeknd and Banks for their sexiness.

Her video clip for Talk Talk is also out of this world level weird but is following the trend of her music and somehow I just can’t seem to get enough. Maple is currently prepping for the release of her debut EP Vacant Space, expected 1st December.
