Warp, wobble, break and glitch your audio with the help of the Bad Tape plugin. Dennis Audio’s latest tape effect is a must-have sound design tool.

The plug-in came about after Enrico ‘nrec’ Tiberi of Denise Audio started experimenting with the AKAI 4000 DS MK2 reel to reel tape recorder. From the desired to create a more versatile, modern adaptation of this effect, Bad Tape was born.

BT comes pack with a plethora of controls for you to mangle your music with. The 6 controls at the bottom let you control the input, output, mix, saturation, colour and speed of the tape effect. However, these controls are quite plain when compare 6 above them.

Wow (or wobble) and Shake, randomly detune the pitch of your track like your inconsistent tape machine playback. The Detune button also lets you do this in real-time, like pressing your finger on a tape reel. BT also comes packed with unique presets for different instruments in your session. Whether it’s synths or drums, BT knows if you need a soft nostalgic tape warble or some booming bit crushing saturation.
