If you haven’t heard Foley’s new single, you’re living your life wrong

If you haven’t heard of Foley yet, do yourself a favour and get on it. The duo from New Zealand produce tight melodies and sharp pop you can’t help but move to, and their latest single Stranger is no exception.

The duo had been working on separate musical projects for a while, but joined forces after feeling unenthused about what they were doing. From then they started creating tight, smooth pop.

New Zealand duo Foley have produced a few slick pop singles, but their latest will be stuck in your head for all the best reasons.

Made up of Ash Wallace and Gabriel Everett, Foley dropped their first single Settle in late 2017, and then followed up with Talk About It in June 2018. Stranger is their third single, and for a band with such a limited discography, it’s pretty bloody polished.

From the moment the song starts with an infectious driving guitar riff, to when the bass line kicks in, you can’t help but move to it. Wallace’s soulful vocals have the perfect staccato affectation to match the groove of the song. Combined with the bassy tones of Everett in the chorus, the song captivates from the second it starts.

The nostalgic pop anthem doesn’t lose interest no matter how many times you listen to it. And with a music video reminiscent of late ’90s pop and RnB, you can’t help but feel transported to another time.

This being their third single and the band getting plenty of attention online, you don’t want to fall behind. If Foley keep up their high quality production, slick beats and infectious pop stylings (which no doubt they will), they’ll be making it big in no time.

Coming off the back of a run of shows around New Zealand, the duo are already garnering a pretty solid following. Jump on the bandwagon and catch their new track Stranger today.
