Sydney based alt-rock band Indigo Point are three pals taking Sydney’s live music scene by storm. Their new release Time in a Mile is a softer sounding addition to their January EP Distance, showcasing their storytelling ability with melodic guitar lines, clear vocals and authentic simplicity.
Inspired by the likes of Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Royal Blood and Led Zeppelin, the band’s style ranges from classic, blues-driven styles of rock to heavier, fast-paced garage-punk.
Sydney alt-rock trio Indigo Point have released their new single Time in a Mile, a little slice of nostalgic storytelling with authentic simplicity.
Old school mates Sam Morrell (guitar/lead vocals) and J.J. Tempas (bass) first started making music together in 2017 before Josh Mason (drums and backup vocals) came along the following year. The trio recorded their 5-track EP Distance in JJ’s garage, which they turned into a makeshift recording studio.
Since then, the band have crafted a sound that’s uniquely their own; it’s simultaneously tender and powerful. With their distinctive blend of sounds, Indigo Point have quickly built themselves as one of the Sydney music scene’s most exciting emerging acts.
“Time in a Mile depicts an all too familiar story of nostalgia. A story of constantly looking back at a particular time in your life and wishing that you could’ve spent more time with someone special,” the band say of their new single.
“But what happens when you look deep inside yourself and realise that you have no reason to be unhappy, and truly see that the world around you is packed to the rafters with possibility.”
The band’s sound is unique and nuanced, as no two tracks sound the same—a credit to their musical ability and cohesion as a band. We can’t wait to see what’s next for these guys!
