I first came across Interview Magazine when I read the amazing interview they published between Don Cheadle and Kendrick Lamar.
It seems they have a knack for teeing up potent celebrity pairings, because their latest issue features a chat between actor Gary Oldman and our favourite vinyl junkie Jack White.
Winston Churchill, Robert Redford and the art of acting: read Jack White’s immense discussion with Gary Oldman for Interview Magazine.
It’s a lengthy online read, but I was completely hooked the whole way through. The pair discuss Oldman’s portrayal of Winston Churchill in The Darkest Hour, the methods of acting, the importance of the past and a good deal in between.
A favourite exchange:
OLDMAN: I think what it comes down to is that acting is an antidote to self-hatred.
WHITE: I’m going to write that down. I’m going to start acting some more now.
