John Aniston, actor from drama series Days of Our Lives, and father of Jennifer Aniston, has died at the age of 89.
Emmy-winning showbiz veteran, John Aniston died on Friday (November 11), as announced by his daughter and Friends actress, Jennifer Aniston via Instagram earlier today. He was 89.
“Sweet papa… John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain,” wrote Jennifer. “And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time. Don’t forget to visit.”
No official cause of death has been reported as of yet for John Aniston, whose Hollywood career spanned over fifty years. Aniston was well known for his role in the acclaimed American drama program, Days of Our Lives. He was also featured in various other shows including Gilmore Girls, Mad Men, The West Wing and Search for Tomorrow.
Earlier this year, John Aniston was gifted a Lifetime Achievement Emmy at the Daytime Emmy Awards. Though he was not in attendance at the ceremony in June, his daughter Jennifer made a heartfelt speech on his behalf: “For over 30 years, his dedication to (“Days”) has gained him respect and admiration of his fellow actors, deep friendships and thrilled millions of fans around the world. His career is literally the definition of lifetime achievement.”
