Keith Richards, Slash, and more sign guitar to benefit New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain

A guitar signed by Keith Richards, Slash, and more, is being auctioned in support of Sylvain Sylvain, guitarist of the New York Dolls, who revealed in April 2019 he was undergoing treatment for cancer.

The New York Dolls were a fixture of the early New York punk rock scene, and their first two albums from the 1970s still hold cult acclaim. Sylvain performed on both these albums, as well as the three albums the reunited band released from 2004 to 2011.Sylvain Sylvain

The music community has gathered behind New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain in his fight against cancer, auctioning a one of a kind signed guitar.

Drawing the attention of Dogs d’Amour frontman Tyla and business partner Alan Hampton, the pair acquired a Gretsch Electromatic guitar, donated by the company. Tyla handpainted an original New York Dolls design onto the face of the guitar and reached out to a number of artists for autographs.

Richards and the other musicians provided authenticated signatures that were then process-printed onto the back of the guitar. The original signatures are also included in the auction.

The auction is now live. For more information, including a full list of the artists who signed the guitar, head to eBay. Check out the front and back of this unique guitar below.
