St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is a staple event in the summer festival rounds and it will be making an anticipated return in 2020, with the announcement that the Sydney leg of the festival will have a brand new location.
For for ten years, Laneway Festival Sydney has been hosted at the Sydney College of the Arts in Rozelle, but this week it has been revealed it will be now held at The Domain.
The 2020 instalment of Laneway Festival Sydney will be held in The Domain, a central location that also hosts NYD festival Field Day.
In a statement, Laneway Festival organisers says that accessibility and production capability were key reasons for the festival move next year.
“We’ve had 10 amazing years at the Sydney College of the Arts and Callan Park and we’ll forever be grateful for the support of the local community who gave the festival a Sydney home” says organisers.
“We decided that it was time to move back into the city so we could present the show with the best possible staging, sound and overall accessibility both in and around the event. We have plans to create a unique offering in The Domain that hasn’t been seen before. We can’t wait to present Laneway in this stunning world class location.”
Laneway Festival has a huge alumni of epic artists, including the likes of Flume, Anderson Paak, Tame Impala, FKA Twigs and more. The festival has since has teased several announcements to come over the next few weeks, with festival-goers expecting to see bigger stages and bigger crowds for what will be a stellar line-up to come.
