Liam Gallagher may be one step closer to taking the title of King Gallagher in light of the success granted to him by his debut solo record As You Were. It seems Noel has been left in the dust by the record’s overwhelming popularity since its release on the 6th of October.
Already outselling all other records combined on the top 20 UK charts, As You Were has set itself up to be one of the most significant albums of 2017.
It can be confirmed that Liam Gallagher’s record is the highest selling record since Ed Sheerans Divide and has moved approximately 79,000 units in physical and digital sales.
Fans have been hailing As You Were as a ‘modern day classic’, with singles Chinatown and Wall Of Glass bearing the signature bolshy wail we remember with an unmistakable and unwavering confidence. Gallagher is now well placed to become a monumental figure in British music as he drifts further and further away from Oasis and into a new sphere of rock and roll.
The ever modest Gallagher has taken to social media congratulating himself and then his fans for the albums success, stating “It’s official Rock N Roll is No 1. Congratulations to you, to me congratulations to all of us for making it happen as you were LG x”
Gallagher will be venturing out to Australia for Falls Festival in Byron Bay, Lorne and Marion Bay as well as side shows around the country in January. To stay on top of any Liam related news we highly recommend following his exceptionally entertaining Twitter account.
