LOLA float into the abyss with new track Deep Soul

Scandinavian outfit LOLA are turning ripples into waves in the music scene. Over the past few years they have been working hard to deliver music which evokes all of the senses.

New track Deep Soul is almost as cinematic as the incredible live video, which takes place in a midnight indoor garden creating an aesthetic that is just phenomenal.

LOLA

Deep Soul by LOLA throws listeners into an ocean of sensory delight, creating sounds which are both cinematic and pleasing to the ears.

LOLA boasts vocals which are soft as silk and oozing with sexual energy. Combined with ubiquitous guitar sounds and soulfully atmospheric rhythm, the group paint the perfect picture of love and its many faces, creating a subtle yet powerful neo-soul anthem.

The track works to encapsulate the ways in which love can be double-sided in nature, summoning contradictory feelings within us simultaneously. Mikala Bosetti’s heart-felt and angelic voice carries with both strength and vulnerability throughout, displaying the moment whereby love can come down to a decision which can turn your life around forever.

Speaking about the concept behind the track the group said: “Love sometimes can feel like a big ocean. Scary and deep to dive into. When you literally fall in, headfirst in the deep end it can feel like the most vulnerable state to be in. But on the contrary there’s nothing more sexy, powerful and seductive as a woman swimming in the nocturnal water, reminding you of a siren.”

This imagery is perfectly captured in the track which immerses you within its sea and water-like soundscapes.

LOLA have clearly envisioned creating a project that tells a story over the course of more than just a single track, which is what we can expect from their upcoming EP, “We’ve had the urge to write and create an EP almost like a movie or short film. The whole concept of the EP was to tell a story almost that reminded us of the metamorphosis of the butterfly.”

Combining neo-soul with high-quality production with the deep and loungey aesthetics of 90’s underground high fashion, LOLA have created something buttery and lush, which is wholly unique to them.

Their highly anticipated EP Look At Us Now is set for release in October this year and we couldn’t be more excited to go on LOLA’s skill-fully curated musical journey. For now, you can enjoy the wondrous nocturnal secrets of Deep Soul.
