In one exciting announcement, Mac DeMarco has confirmed a new album in 2019 and a full US headline tour.
DeMarco’s tour is set to include some of the year’s major festivals including Coachella and Bonnaroo and sees him playing across the US from April to October.
It appears to be a busy time for the 28-year-old solo artist, having announced last year that he’s starting his own record label. The new album, confirmed today in a press release, is to be the first recording on the new label Mac’s Record Label.
It will also be the singer/songwriter’s first album since This Old Dog released in 2017. Beyond this, little is known about the record, but we have been assured, “More details are to come“.
We can’t help but feeling a little cut he didn’t add Australia on his list of tour destinations, especially after his killer performance at Laneway last year. There may be hope for another international tour after his album release, but in the meantime we can only wonder which special guests we might be seeing on stage during the tour.
