Michelle Branch files for divorce from Black Keys drummer, Patrick Carney after three years of marriage. She accuses him of infidelity.
Michelle Branch is reportedly calling it quits with Patrick Carney after three years of marriage. On Thursday last week, the Everywhere singer revealed her decision to split from The Black Keys drummer, accusing him of being unfaithful to her.
According to paperwork acquired by PEOPLE, Branch states that the pair have “irreconcilable differences,” and “are no longer capable of resuming their marital relationship and living together as husband and wife.”
Sources state that the Grammy-winning artist has also requested to be made the primary residential guardian of her and Patrick’s four-year-old son, Rhys James, and six-month-old daughter, Willie Jacquet, adding that her soon-to-be ex-husband should be granted “reasonable parenting time privileges,” while he pays child support.
The documents reviewed by PEOPLE mark the duo’s separation date as Thursday (August 11). News of the split was revealed by Michelle Branch just hours after she was taken into custody for domestic abuse, due to allegedly hitting Patrick Carney across the face at their property in Nashville, Tennessee. The musician was later released on a $1,000 bond.
