Propstore is handling the sale, set to run from August 26 to 29, but the online buzz has already begun.
Fans have drawn an uncanny parallel between the actor’s name and the infamous slasher Michael Myers, while others are pointing to a recent TikTok trend that recuts the 2003 flop into horror trailers.
The live-action adaptation, directed by Bo Welch, was a notorious box office dud, grossing $134 million against a $109 million budget, and earned ten Razzie nominations.
Its failure was so profound that Dr. Seuss’s widow banned future live-action adaptations.
