Son of T. Rex’s Marc Bolan is suing the filmmakers of Baby Driver

Rolan Feld, son of T.Rex singer Marc Bolan, is suing the filmmakers of box office smash Baby Driver, alleging that they used the band’s song Debora without the proper clearance.

The son of T. Rex’s Marc Bolan is suing the filmmakers of Baby Driver for illegal the use of the band’s song Debora.

Feld is pointing fingers at Sony, Media Rights Capital, Bambino Films and others involved in the making of Baby Driver, claiming that they bypassed the correct channels in order to gain the rights to use the song in the film.

As it appears in a statement released last week, Feld is looking for both financial compensation and a formal apology.

“Inexplicably, Defendants failed to obtain – or even seek – the permission of the composition’s U.S. copyright holder Rolan Feld. In the six weeks since Feld brought this infringement to Defendant Sony’s attention, Defendants have done little more than point fingers at one another — and they have neither [apologised] nor offered to pay Feld a reasonable license fee.”

Check out the song below, as seen on the Baby Driver soundtrack.
