Nick Cave shares his 10 favourite love songs of all time

There have been lists like this written for years. From scratched in teenage notebooks to published in respected magazines, people have been ranking love songs for about as long as love songs have existed.

But while a lot of them will include My Heart Will Go On or (I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You, this one’s a little different. After being asked by a fan on his website The Red Hand Files, Nick Cave has revealed his top ten favourite love songs.

Nick Cave took to his website The Red Hand Files to reveal his top 10 love songs, and the list is just as eclectic and brilliant as you’d expect.

From Nina Simone to The Moody Blues and Bob Dylan, the list is an eclectic collection of proclamations. Writing on the blog, Cave explains what love means to him.

“Maybe some songs are the embodiment of love itself and that’s why they move us so deeply. They are simple, plainspoken, incendiary devices that bomb the heart to pieces – something other art forms can’t do with the same sudden and frightening precision.”
