Nicole Kidman bids $100K on Hugh Jackman’s signed hat

Nicole Kidman got a standing ovation at Broadway’s The Music Man after offering up $100K for Hugh Jackman’s signed hat.

Nicole Kidman was a surprise guest at Saturday’s performance of Hugh Jackman’s The Music Man (November 26) revival on Broadway. During the charity portion, featuring an auction for the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS organisation, the Aussie actress stunned the crowd with a hefty bid of $100,000 for a hat with Jackman’s signature on it.

“A hundred thousand!” exclaimed Kidman, as the hat was being offered up. Immediately, cheers erupted from the crowd as she made her way to the stage. Fan-shot footage at the Winter Garden Theatre shows an audience member screaming, “Oh my god it’s Nicole Kidman” as she hugs one of the performers on stage.

Taking a microphone, Kidman said, “I love you. I love Broadway. And I love what they do, Broadway Cares, but I also want to say this show is extraordinary.”

Reflecting on the incident via Twitter on Sunday (November 27), Hugh Jackman declared: The generosity emanating from #NicoleKidman leaves me speechless! You ARE amazing. Thank you for your friendship and support! @MusicManBway @NicholastheWard @BCEFA.” See a clip of the delightful moment featuring Nicole Kidman take place below.
