The American Music Awards is one of the biggest events in the American music industry, bringing together hundreds of musicians and celebrities. So, it’s unsurprising that many attendees used it as an opportunity to add to the pile of politically charged speeches against Trump’s presidential victory.
While many guests had the chance to say a word or two about Trump, it was Green Day who spoke the loudest.
The punk/rock band performed their new single, Bang Bang, but tweaked the words to preach “no Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA.”
In Green Day’s classic tendency, they were brutally clear and unforgiving, and the audience loved it.
Green Day have pioneered American punk/rock music for decades, never ceasing to be relentless and ridiculing in the face of political bigotry.
