The pop star says she and LEGO are already cooking up “another fun thing” after her five-set debut collection.
Damn, this generation has got it good.
Our parents made do with bricks and their imaginations. Now Olivia Rodrigo fans can recreate tour moments, build tiny record players and stash things inside miniature touring cases.
And apparently, she’s not done yet.
Following the release of her first LEGO collection earlier this month, Rodrigo has revealed that she and the LEGO team are already cooking up whatever comes next.
“We’re already cooking up another fun thing together, can’t wait for people to see!” Rodrigo told Billboard.
Which is understandably vague, but considering the success and frankly ridiculous level of detail packed into the first collection, there’s plenty of room for speculation.
Rodrigo’s debut LEGO Editions collection arrived with five sets built around her music, tours and general purple universe, including a Concert Moon inspired by the GUTS World Tour, a Dual Guitar, Vinyl display and Secret Storage touring case.
There’s also a flower bouquet loaded with tiny references to Rodrigo’s life and career.
It was a pretty major collaboration for LEGO, too. Rodrigo became the first musician to receive multiple dedicated LEGO sets, with the pop star working alongside the company’s designers on everything from minifigure outfits to Easter eggs.
And there are a lot of Easter eggs.
The Secret Storage set includes a tiny recreation of the fiery school scene from the ‘good 4 u’ video, while the Dual Guitar hides a miniature dressing room complete with a burger — a nod to Rodrigo’s tradition of grabbing Five Guys after major shows.
There’s even a honeybee tucked into the collection, slipped in while Rodrigo was quietly working on new music.
Rodrigo told Billboard that seeing the finished collection in London was “such a surreal moment” after watching the ideas develop behind the scenes.
As for what LEGO and Rodrigo are building next, neither side is giving much away yet.
At this rate, though, Livies are going to need a bigger shelf.
