For over forty years now, Patti Smith has been hypnotising us with her one-of-a-kind fusion of punk and poetry. Now it’s time for fans to get excited because Patti Smith and her band are set to tour Australia and New Zealand in 2020.
The Godmother of Punk will be returning to play Melbourne and Sydney this April, as well as performing at Bluesfest in Byron Bay.
Very few people expected that Patti Smith would be returning to Australia so soon, making this announcement extra special news.
“I really didn’t expect to be coming back, but it was just such a great trip. I really thought that I wouldn’t be able to come back – so I’m delighted that I was wrong,” the legend said in a statement.
After conquering Bluesfest in 2017, Patti Smith and Her Band took home the Helpmann Award that year for Best International Contemporary Concert. With a stellar band including her very own son, Jackson, 2020 is set to be even bigger and better!
Smith’s debut LP Horses was the beginning of a long musical career that achieved many notable recognitions over the years and include so many songs that we can’t wait to hear her belt out. We are beyond thrilled to welcome Patti Smith back to Australia with open arms.
