Paul McCartney has curated 163 career-spanning singles, for a new limited-edition 7-inch vinyl box set, The 7″ Singles.
Paul McCartney’s new vinyl box set, The 7″ Singles is due out on December 2, 2022. With only 3,000 physical copies made to order, the curation of this limited-edition set comprising 80 x 7” singles was personally overseen by McCartney.
It contains remakes of 65 singles/promos using revamped original artwork from several countries, 15 singles that have never been released on 7” vinyl before, and a 148-page book containing a personal foreword by Paul McCartney himself, a piece written by music journalist Rob Sheffield, chart data, recording info, release dates and more.
The 7″ Singles box set houses 163 tracks in total, launched between 1971 and 2019, offering 10 hours of music from the former Beatles frontman’s five-decade journey as a solo artist. As an added bonus, each box includes a randomly-chosen exclusive test pressing of one of the singles.
The items included in this collection will be stored in a two-piece, four-walled FSC-approved Redwood pine and Birch Ply wooden crate, made in the UK. Alongside the launch of the physical box set, The 7″ Singles will be made available digitally, across all major streaming platforms.
All of the tracks featured in the legendary musician’s new box set were cut and remastered at Abbey Road Studios. The 7” Singles collection is priced at $829.99. As stated by Paul McCartney in a press release, “I hope the songs in this box set bring back fun memories for you too. They do for me, and there will be more to come…”
