Paulina Porizkova reveals ‘I’m Baring It All’ in new memoir

Former supermodel Paulina Porizkova has shared a cheeky pic to announce her new memoir.

Paulina Porizkova made headlines recently with some revealing Instagram photos, depicting the former supermodel naked on a bed, with nothing but a sheet to keep things modest. The model has taken a similar snapshot posing with nothing but her new memoir.

A keen spokesperson against ageism, she is using the platform to normalise ageing, and to promote her forthcoming memoir, No Filter: The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful (Penguin Random House).

“Yes, I’m baring it all. No filters. This collection of essays contains things I want to share, things I have thought about, things that hold me back, and things that propel me forward. It is all of me. For all of you.”

She continued by thanking her fans for their love and support. “I have expressed before how much your support means to me, and I’ll keep thanking you. Each and every one of you. This book was written because of your support, I’ll have some fun announcements coming up.”

Penguin describes the forthcoming memoir, as a wise and compelling exploration of heartbreak, grief, beauty, aging, relationships, re-invention and finding your purpose. In these essays, Porizkova bares her soul and shares the lessons she’s learned—often the hard way. After a lifetime of being looked at, she is ready to be heard.

Born in Czechoslovakia, Paulina Porizkova rose to prominence as a model, appearing on the highly sought-after front cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1984.  Porizkova went on to become the face of Estée Lauder in the late 80s and was one of the highest-paid models at that time.  Destiny came knocking in the form of Ric Ocasek. when she was cast in the music video for the song “Drive” by The Cars. It was love at first sight, he was forty at the time, and Porizkova was nineteen. The couple went on to marry, and raise a family together.  Following a separation, and her ex-husband’s death—and the revelation of a deep betrayal—Porizkova has stunned fans with her fierce vulnerability and disarming honesty as she let the whole world share in her experience of being a woman who must start over.
