Melbourne electro duo Indian Summer are well-versed on the DJ circuit. They’ve played the country over since their initial releases, including rocking Splendour in the Grass.
After an eight-month hiatus, Gabe Gleeson and Chevy Long have just released Been Here Before, a promising showcase of what the fellas have in store. However, between pumping out their own hits, part of their show will always involve picking and choosing the tunes crowds are going to go crazy for.
As disc jockeys, Indian Summer need to know what’s going down in the music scene. We asked them to share some of Australia’s most promising up-and-comers.
Lastlings
A very young duo from Brisbane, Australia that we’ve been digging for ages and ages. Amy’s vocals are spine chilling and incredible, she’s got vocal character beyond her years – they’re a very exciting pair of songwriters.
Moonbase Commander
Old mate Nick has been killing it recently with his Moonbase Commander tunes, we had the privilege of watching him slay Splendour In The Grass this year. Just WAIT until you hear some of the unreleased stuff he has up his sleeve it will blow your mind.
Yakis
A long time friend of ours who has been putting out some tidy remixes and just dropped a killer EP on Melbourne label Medium Rare.
Mezko
Saw these girls play live at the Purple Sneakers 10th Birthday Party in Sydney a couple of months ago and they sounded fantastic. Electronic music that pays homage to the 90s and isn’t afraid of being a bit noisy / charmingly rough around the edges.
Makaw
A brand new artist who only has one track online at the moment. Got sent a link to her stuff the other day by a mate and we can’t wait to hear what she puts out next.
