PlayStation launches Indies initiative with 9 new games

While you might think PlayStation would be utterly consumed by the impending arrival of the next-gen, or the release of blockbuster AAA titles, it appears they haven’t forgotten about the little guy. They’ve just launched the PlayStation Indies Initiative, featuring 9 new games from the independent developer community.

Head of PlayStation Indies Shuhei Yoshida emphasised the importance of this community in a blog post: “We trust indie developers with strong vision will continue to bring ideas that have never been tried before, creating whole new genres of games and advancing the art and meaning of video games.”Heavenly Bodies PS Indies

To say PlayStation has had a busy year would be an understatement, but they’ve shown there’s still room for the little guy, revealing 9 new games in an Indies initiative.

On the list is Worms Rumble, a real-time multiplayer adventure; the meditative and visually stunning Haven; Carto, a puzzle adventure; Recompile, a platformer you have to hack your way through; the gorgeous narrative quest, Where the Heart Is; Maquette, where the puzzling is built into the plot; F.I.S.T – Forged in Shadow Torch, an explosive platformer; the weightless Heavenly Bodies and finally, the hand-crafted world of Creaks.
