PREMIERE: Diplazar will possess your hips on Get Away

With a string of EPs and singles already under their belt, Newcastle-based quartet Diplazar have spent the past number of years carving out a sound for themselves that doesn’t really sit within the conventional confines of genre.

Now, with the release of their newest single Getaway, they’ve refined this exotic cocktail of sounds into something groove-inducing and completely hypnotic. If you’re not already familiar with this band, we recommend you change that right now.

On their new single Getaway, Newcastle-based four-piece Diplazar deliver a hypnotic and groove-inducing slice of genre-bending goodness.

The new single sees Diplazar glide through a blissful concoction of psychedelia, indie-rock, pop, reggae, and surf to craft a sound uniquely their own. With lush instrumentation and infectious vocal hooks, Getaway is equal parts grounded and far-reaching.

Over the course of its three-and-a-half-minute duration, the track pulls in myriad directions – it never sits in one place for too long. One moment you’ll be floating through hallucinatory psychedelia, and the next you’ll moving to the band’s funk-laden grooves.

Getaway is the latest in a string of consistently great releases from Diplazar, and judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.
