Former frontman of Australian alt-rock outfit Children Collide, Fascinator (real name Johnny Mackay) has ditched festival appearances and triple j rotations for DJ slots in the hottest nightclubs in New York City.
A fringe dweller of the post-ironic group of Australians currently making their mark in the USA, Fascinator is back with his latest disco-pop single Your Money, It’s Ugly.
A cocktail ephemeral synth-pop, Fascinator’s latest single Your Money, It’s Ugly blurs the line between a late ’90s party anthem and modern-day electro grooves.
With a sound not dissimilar to the likes of late ’90s Jamiroquai and a nonchalance that makes it difficult to discern whether Mackay is pulling the tongue-in-cheek card or not, Your Money, It’s Ugly is captivating in both an aural and visual sense.
And the clip, filmed in Brooklyn at Kinanm Lounge, would make even the biggest homebodies jealous. Watching and listening to Your Money, It’s Ugly ill make you wish that you too could ditch the 9-5 for a life of non-stop partying. Check out the clip below:
