PREMIERE: Being young ain’t easy. Sophisticated Dingo offer up a solution in their new single Money

The scratchy sass of Sophisticated Dingo cannot be ignored. Their latest single Money is spicy, dirty and downright fun.

With huge drums and shredding guitar, this is a track of huge importance and is distinctly reminiscent of Polish Club, WAVVES and Violent Soho.

Sophisticated Dingo

Sophisticated Dingo are attacking garage pop with sheer brilliance, not to mention a touch of comedic allure and cheeky attitude.

Of the track, Lewis “Lew” Matte has revealed “The song itself is all a bit of a tongue in cheek way of looking at dilemma of trying to figure your life out when all you can see (or even struggle to see) is all of the hoops you’re worrying about trying to jump through.

“Wouldn’t everything just be a whole lot easier if you had a big wad of cash thrown right at you to let you sort everything out…”

Money is a song that’s filled with fun, adolescent energy. And with some superficial lyrical undertones, it’s really one which explores the struggles of being young and wanting what you can’t have. Something we can all relate to.

The track was recorded over three days, when the boys reported feeling “tired, stressed and silly”, and that kind of encapsulates everything Money is about, because as young city kids, that’s pretty much what we’re all feeling. They spread themselves over two studios in the city of Melbourne; Salt Studios and Baked Beans Studios.

The track was mastered by Joe Carra of King Gizzard and Skegss acclaim. This single follows on from their killer track Head Talk, a massive anthemic release and one well worth a listen if the opportunity arises.

These guys are launching the single on the 17th of November at Yah Yah’s in Melbourne. Stay on the pulse by hitting up the Facebook event.
