Back in June, when US psych icons Brian Jonestown Massacre played Sydney’s Metro Theatre as part of Vivid, Milton-based five-piece EKKO were given the support slot.
And while many bands would just take the gig, play their set, and leave… EKKO tore that stage apart and converted hundreds of new followers while they were at it. They also filmed an incredible new video for their track Tigerlily.
Tigerlily, the mesmerising new video from Milton five-piece EKKO, will captivate and hypnotise you. You’ll want to watch it over and over again.
Tigerlily is a sprawling epic that sees the band meld elements of psych, shoegaze, and alt-rock to create a sound they wear like a badge of honour.
Originating from NSW’s South Coast, the group dance through contrasting scenes of woozy, hypnotic vocals and crunching guitars with an endearing quality that’ll leave you feeling as though you’re floating through air.
The song’s accompanying video sees the band mesmerise a huge Sydney crowd, with each audience member unable to take their eyes off the charismatic and captivating presence on stage.
If you weren’t lucky enough to be in attendance that night, this new video is the next best thing. Do yourself a favour and watch it above.
Tigerlily is taken off EKKO’s debut self-titled EP, released last week.
