The deposition that Ghislaine Maxwell didn’t want you to see has just been unsealed

Ghislaine Maxwell denied ever witnessing “inappropriate underage activities” from Jeffery Epstein in a 2016 deposition released online.

A long-awaited 400-page deposition from Jeffery Epstein‘s ex-girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, has just been released online. The document, which dates back to 2016, was part of a civil lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed Epstein once kept her as a “sex slave” with the help of Maxwell.

The deposition – which Maxwell long fought to keep sealed – boils down to a whole lot of denial from the British former socialite, who claims she never witnessed Epstein engage in “inappropriate underage activities“, and that she has “never seen anybody have sexual intercourse with Jeffrey, ever.

Throughout the deposition, Maxwell denies recruiting girls for Epstein or having any knowledge of the alleged treatment of Giuffre by Epstein, calling Giuffre a “total liar.

In a previously released deposition, Giuffre claimed Epstein coerced her into having sex with Britain’s Prince Andrew, former US Senator George Mitchell, and attorney Alan Dershowitz when she was 17. Many prominent names were redacted from the unsealed Maxwell deposition.

One name that was not redacted was former US President Bill Clinton who has previously been criticised for his close relationship with Epstein. Maxwell denied Clinton ever visited Epstein’s private island with her, stating “one of (the) lies (Giuffre) told was that President Clinton was on the island where I was present. Absolutely 1000 per cent that is a flat out total fabrication and lie.”

Maxwell did admit to having hired massage therapists for Epstein in the deposition, stating “a very small part of my job was from time to time to find adult professional massage therapists for Jeffrey.

Maxwell’s lawyers fought hard for the document to stay sealed, arguing the public release of the deposition could impede Maxwell’s right to a fair trial when she faces court next year.

Maxwell was arrested in July charged with several counts relating to the sexual trafficking of minors and perjury, including “transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.” If found guilty, she could face up to 35 years in prison. Her trial is scheduled for July 2021.

Jeffery Epstein committed suicide in August 2019 whilst awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges in a Manhatten federal prison.
