Rage have announced they will be paying tribute to Tom Petty this Friday night. The iconic rock ‘n’ roller passed away earlier this week.
Rage is hosting a tribute to Tom Petty this Friday night, who will be playing his most iconic videos and some rare footage from the Rage vault.
Posting on Facebook, the ABC music channel said that they will be honouring Petty’s memory by playing some of his most iconic videos and some rare footage from the vault.
The tribute will kick off late this Friday night, from 12:47am on ABC.
Petty suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu, California, on Monday morning and was taken to hospital, though he could not be revived. He was pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m, surrounded by his friends and family, Tony Dimitriades, Petty’s longtime manager, said in a statement.
Petty’s voice is an irreplaceable one in the rock ‘n’ roll zeitgeist, and he will be sorely missed.
