Back in December, when the Red Hot Chili Peppers announced that John Frusciante would be rejoining the band, fans all over the globe lost their shit. It was, of course, huge news.
Now, the band have dropped even more exciting news, because they’ve confirmed that Frusciante’s next run with band won’t be limited to live performances. He’ll also be part of their next album.
Red Hot Chili Peppers have confirmed a new album is on the way with John Frusciante, his first since 2006’s Stadium Arcadium.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, drummer Chad Smith confirmed the news. “John is back in the band, and everyone knows that. We’re psyched,” Smith shared. “The festivals are the only shows booked. For now, we’ll mostly be concentrating on new songs and writing a new record. We’re all real excited to make new music.”
This new record will mark the band’s first new album with Frusciante since 2006’s Stadium Arcadium. Frusciante was also a key figure in some of RHCP’s most popular albums, including Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication, and By the Way.
