Red hot men’s rights propaganda from the early 1900s shows how far we’ve come

With the women’s march, Donald Trump’s unmitigated misogyny and women’s representation in music on everyone’s minds in 2017, it’s clear society has a long way to go before we even touch on the true meaning of equality.

As important as looking ahead is looking backwards to the way things were. Nowadays, the hateful responses to the suffragette movement of the early 1900s are absurd to the point of being unbelievable… but yeah, this actually happened.

men's rights vintage propaganda

The disgusting men’s rights propaganda against the suffragette movement of the 1900s is a terrifying insight our societies of yesteryear.

Featuring everything from a baby crying because “Mummy’s a suffragette” to a man actually cleaning a house (horrific!), the posters were made between 1900 to 1914 to warn men against the dangers of letting women vote, or even thinking for themselves.

If you find yourself burning with unconditional rage at the sight of these, that’s pretty normal. But just think, where will we be in another century?
