Someone pinch me. Adult Swim has confirmed Rick and Morty season 6 release date is set for Monday, September 5 (aka TODAY) in Australia. Wubba lubba dub dub!
Good news can be hard to find, especially when it comes to ‘where to watch Rick and Morty in Australia’. OMG…the rabbit hole of where to fucking watch your favourite TV show is endless.
According to Netflix, Rick and Morty seasons 1-5 are currently available to stream on their platform, and Season 6 will also be available on Netflix in Australia from September 4 onwards. Put your seatbelts on kids, that’s today!
Co-creator, Justin Roiland has predicted that season 6 is going to be spectacular: “I will say that it’s a bit more canonical. It really rewards fans of the show that have been watching up to this point. I think we’re kind of finally back into the rhythm of Rick And Morty, and I think season 6 is… I didn’t particularly think season 5 was bad, but season 6 is fucking amazing. It really is a fucking quality season.”
In even more good news for fans, as it seems the writing team is ahead of schedule. Alex Rubens Tweeted the following: “Am I allowed to say we started writing Rick And Morty season 7? If not, we didn’t and I’m not.”
Dan Harmon himself has also previously alluded to the fact that Rick and Morty season 6 and 7 were way ahead during a panel session at the Adult Swim Festival back in November 2020. Well and truly immersed in the production, he admitted, “I think we’re working on [Rick And Morty] season 7 right now, I can’t even keep track. I wouldn’t know if I were spoiling season 5 or season 6. We’re more on schedule than we’ve ever been. [COVID-19] kind of makes you have to focus on the whole process when you don’t have this office environment anymore.”
“Everyone has to run this bee colony remotely, so the honey just gets made more consistently… It’s working for us.” Fans can look forward to a whopping ten episodes. See below for titles:
