Rihanna is set to perform at the 2023 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, one of the biggest nights in the American sporting calendar.
Hot off the announcement that NFL is replacing Pepsi, with Apple Music, which had been a key sponsor for the games for over a decade. The NFL has just dropped the news that the Queen of R&B Rhianna, is set to headline the highly coveted halftime entertainment.
Regardless of team affiliation, music fans tune in from all over the world to catch the halftime show, which is known to attract more attention than the game itself. Credited with making some of the world’s most significant iconic music moments to date – Michael Jackson’s is still considered the greatest performance – it’s not surprising the halftime segment is so lauded.
Rhianna has had a busy couple of years on a personal level, on May 13th of this year, the superstar gave birth to her first child, a son (as yet the baby Riri’s name is still under wraps) with partner A$AP Rocky.
Confirmed via Rihanna’s Instagram page, a single shot of her holding a football is all it takes to announce to the world that she is set to headline the 2023 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, her first performance since the 2019 Grammy’s.
“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn,” Roc Nation founder Jay-Z said in a statement. “A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage,” NFL head of music Seth Dudowsky stated. “We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.”
Super Bowl LVII is scheduled to take place on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
