Djokovic was kicked out of Aus and the Serbian President says Australia “humiliated” itself

The Serbian President thinks the Australian government made absolute fools of themselves over the Djokovic trial.

After Djokovic faced a Federal Court hearing to decide if he could stay down under, the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the hearing was “a farce with a lot of lies”.

He has got a point.

Novak Djokovic had his Visa cancelled, was deported from Australia and was unable to compete in the Australian Open.

The world’s best tennis champion (for now) was kicked out of Australia as his medical exemption from the COVID vax was deemed insufficient.

Vucic told reporters on Sunday: “They think that they humiliated Djokovic with this 10-day harassment, and they actually humiliated themselves,”

“If you said that the one who was not vaccinated has no right to enter, Novak would not come or would be vaccinated.”

Look, he’s not exactly wrong.

While the Aussie government are normally killing it (in case the sarcasm is hard to read, that’s sarcasm) they really should have sorted this out before Djokovic arrived at the country.

“You were saying medical exemptions and medical exemptions and he came there with a medical exemption proposal and then you were mistreating him for 10 days,”

“Why did you do it? And then doing that witches’ hunt campaign against him, that is something that no one can understand.” Vucic told the BBC.

Why did they do it? We’re not saying Djokovic should have been able to stay but you think a phone call before he boarded a plane could have been made to avoid this whole mess.

We’re wondering if Scotty from marketing had just placed a huge bet on Rafael Nadal.
