She Walks Through Dusk balance light and dark on ‘Anything But This Again’

A couple of months ago, when She Walks Through Dusk released their debut single, If You’re Silent, we were immediately on board with their unique brand of alt-rock. In a very short period of time, the Hobart-based band have developed a sound that feels equal parts dark and infectious; it’s grounded in gloomy imagery but stretches into addictive sonic territories.

Now, with the release of their follow-up single Anything But This Again, they continue to establish their penchant for crafting immersive gems of sound. If you’re not already across this band, we strongly recommend you change that.

She Walks Through Dusk

On their new single Anything But This Again, Hobart outfit She Walks Through Dusk deliver a moody and deeply addictive slice of alternative rock.

All throughout the new single, She Walks Through Dusk—made up vocalist Imogen Duske, keyboardist/bassist Amelia Kohl, drummer James Milner, lead guitarist Katherine “Kat” Diaz Robayo, and guitarist/bassist Ryan Patrick—stomp through a hypnotic blend of alt-rock and pop, delivering something uniquely their own.

With bright synth lines, driving guitars, air-tight percussion, and endearing vocal melodies, Anything But This Again is brimming with musical energy. Over the course of its punchy three-and-a-half-minute run-time, the song develops into something really quite cathartic; the further into the song you venture, the more epic it becomes.

These may still be early days for this Hobart outfit, but judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes. In the meantime, however, do yourself a favour and listen to the new single above.

100% of the proceeds from the sales and streams of Anything But This Again will be donated to the Hobart Women’s Shelter until the end of 2020.
