SouthScope are a band you’ll want to keep an eye on

Based out of Sydney, SouthScope ooze out incredibly endearing indie-rock music that feels simultaneously laid-back and energetic.

Having formed in early 2016, the band possess a synergy between members that most bands take their entire career to develop. This may have something to do with the fact that they’re a band of siblings.

Dripping with lush instrumentation and mesmerising vocals, Sydney three-piece SouthScope craft seemingly flawless slices of indie-rock.

Made up of guitarist and vocalist Leon Stevens, bassist Ruby Stevens, and drummer Tyrone Stevens, SouthScope navigate elements of indie-folk and alternative rock to deliver an ethereal sound that belongs entirely to themselves.

The band formed after frontman Leon spent five years living in Sweden. Following years of exploring the Stockholm music scene, Leon returned to Aus and created this new band. And what better people to start a band with than your siblings?

With only an EP under their collective belt, SouthScope have already developed a fully-formed sound that drips with lush instrumentation and airy vocals.

Diving into any one of the three-piece’s tracks feels like floating along a cool river; it’s calming and perpetually changing.

Keep your eyes peeled for more music from SouthScope, and do yourself a favour and listen to the Hindsight EP above.
