Victorian psych-rockers, Stonefield are the latest band to join the Flightless Records family, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard‘s own label and home to The Murlocs, ORB, The Babe Rainbow, Leah Senior and more. To coincide with the news, the four-piece have just released a sludgy new track called Delusion.
Victorian psych rockers, Stonefield have signed to King Gizzard’s label, Flightless, and they dropped a sludgy new track to celebrate. Listen below.
Taking a heavier route than their previous records, the song wanders down darker paths, takings cues from electrified prog-rock and doom metal. Introducing operatic synths, apocalyptic bells, and psychedelic effects into their riff-heavy formula, the tracks feels very much at home on the Flightless roster.
“Delusion was inspired by an overwhelming feeling of knowing you are a speck in the universe, getting lost in your own mind,” the band say of the song. “We ventured away from classic song structure to create more of a journey, exploring synth sounds to support our love of a hypnotic sounding riff.”
The band have also announced two launch shows in Sydney and Melbourne for early next year before jetting off to the States to play at Levitation Festival (formerly Austin Psych Fest). See below for the track and more info.
