The Surry Hills Festival has revealed the first line up for this year’s event, which will include acts like The Stiffys, Noire, Leah Flanagan, Sons of the East, and The Pigs, with more to be announced in the coming weeks. There is no entry cost for the festival, but all funds raised by donations from the event will go towards community programs at the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre.
The event will also feature upcoming artists from the Australian Institute of Music, while festival organisers are inviting up and coming musicians to submit applications to the Surry Hills Song Competition showcasing their songwriting talents and love for Surry Hills. Applications close on August 22, and the winner will have their track recorded at Soundwork Studios.
The Surry Hills Festival will be going down on Saturday September 26.
