Taylor Swift knocked off #1 slot for her birthday

Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero dropped from its long-standing #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart, mere hours before her 32nd birthday.

Happy Birthday, Taylor Swift! And also, sorry for your loss. Just yesterday, the ARIA Top 50 Singles for week of 12 December dropped, and much to the horror of Swifties worldwide, Anti-Hero is no longer at No. 1.

After sittin’ pretty atop the ARIA Singles Chart for six weeks, Sam Smith and Kim Petras have nudged Taylor Swift down a spot and snagged #1 with their acclaimed collaborative hit, Unholy.

Meanwhile, another song that’s been spotted climbing up the ranks is Mariah Carey’s seasonal classic, All I Want For Christmas Is You, which is currently at #3 on the chart. This is closely followed by Meghan Trainor’s Made You Look; an October-released pop track that has been featured in the background of over 2.3 million TikTok videos to date.

Of course, not all is lost for Taylor Swift, who turns 32 today (December 13), as the hitmaker has only taken a miniature step down to #2. In addition to Anti-Hero, another track from her record-breaking Midnights LP that still graces the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart is Lavender Haze at #39, directly above Dua Lipa’s 2020-released tune, Levitating.

In all obviousness, Anti-Hero’s eventual decline was inevitable, just untimely in this case. So with that in mind, we hope there’s no ‘Bad Blood’ between Swift and the ARIA Charts.

With the proven power of the Swiftie army on her side, we’re sure she’ll be back up at No. 1 in no time. Until then, we wish Taylor Swift the happiest of birthdays. Don’t forget to make a wish when you blow those candles out, Taylor!
