The Snake Behaviour’s new single Ragnarok is a brutal wake-up call

With a string of consistently great (and consistently brutal) releases under their belt, Christchurch-based outfit The Snake Behaviour have spent the past number of years carving out a unique space for themselves in the heavy music world. Their music is undeniably aggressive, but laced in themes of social justice.

Now, with the release of their latest single Ragnarok, they continue to build themselves as heroes of the New Zealand music scene. But prepare yourself… this new track doesn’t hold anything back.

On their new single Ragnarok, Christchurch-based outfit The Snake Behaviour deliver a brutal wake-up call to humanity’s destruction of the earth.

Throughout the new single, The Snake Behaviour stomp through their signature blend of hard-rock, and alternative-punk to deliver a sound uniquely their own. With thunderous percussion, crunching guitars, and ferocious vocal hooks, Ragnarok will both smack you in the face and get stuck in your head.

Named after Nordic mythology’s version of Armageddon, Ragnarok is a vitriolic warning that humanity can’t keep treating the planet the way we currently do. “Every time we put petrol in our cars, test a nuke, drill for oil etc, the doomsday clock ticks closer and closer to midnight,” the band say.

This is the latest great single from The Snake Behaviour, and judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new track above.
