The Veronicas have shocked fans by breaking up, wiping their band Instagram page, and announcing solo careers, all in one day.
Just yesterday, The Veronicas sent shockwaves through their fanbase. They revealed their departure as duo by wiping their band Instagram page, @theveronicasmusic and posting teasers of individual music projects on their respective accounts.
The Veronicas, comprising twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso, have been a widely-celebrated Aussie pop act since the early 2000’s. Hailing from Brisbane, the hitmakers behind Untouched have certainly been going through a career shift as of late. In May of this year, the pair announced their split from the Sony Music label. And now, they’ve split from each other as well.
Lisa Origliasso posted a music video teaser, via @lisa_veronica, for her first solo single, aptly titled Crusin’ On My Own, which is reportedly launching this Wednesday, September 7. Along with it, she wrote, “I’m going solo.” Her sister Jessica followed suit with a teaser of her own, posted via @jessicaveronica, for a track called Seeing Stars, which is slated for release on the very same day. She followed up the post with the caption, “ARE YOU ON MY TEAM..”
Media outlets have reached out to The Veronicas for comments on their split. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for updates!
