The Waza-Air from BOSS places a guitar amp inside your head

The days of lugging around a 15kg amp and annoying your neighbours with blaring riffs are long gone. BOSS is undoubtedly at the forefront of innovation with the release of a wireless personal guitar amplification system, the Waza-Air.

Waza-Air takes the guitar experience where it’s never gone before. The new wireless headphones from BOSS restore natural dimension, resonance and the ‘moving air’ feel attained from a traditional amplification experience.BOSS WAZA-AIR

Waza-Air takes the guitar experience where it’s never gone before. The new wireless headphones from BOSS restores the natural ambience that comes with a real guitar amp.

The Waza-Air has an integrated gyro sensor that tracks head movements as the user plays, driving 3D algorithms that produce an immersive sound field with extraordinary spatial realism. The Waza-Air features five amp types based on BOSS’s Katana amp range as well as over 50 effects including reverbs, delays and modulations, which can all be stored as user-presets. All of these features are accessible via the BOSS Tone Studio app for both Android and iOS.

The built-in Bluetooth feature allows users to play along to songs from their mobile device with the option of three advanced ambience listening modes that recreate realistic sonic environments for an immersive playing experience.

Here’s what BOSS have to say about the Waza-Air:

Surround mode places the amp in a virtual room, providing an immersive experience like playing in a recording studio. Things get even more real with Static mode, where the combined amp and room sound changes depending on where you move your head. Finally, Stage mode lets you step into the spotlight, with the amp sound coming from a virtual backline behind you.”

The Waza-Air Wireless Personal Guitar Amplification System is available now for $399.99. For more information, head to BOSS.
