Thurston Moore’s eclectic record collection is going up for sale

Sonic Youth guitarist and vocalist Thurston Moore is selling over 300 records from his private collection. The news was announced by The World of Echo record store on their Instagram page.

The records will be made available at The World of Echo record store in London on October 5th. The post reads that “a number of the records are highly collectible or rarely seen.”

Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore has announced the sale of over 300 records from his private collection, in association with The World of Echo.

The collection spans a broad range of genres, from “variants of jazz, noise, hardcore, black metal, ethnographic, punk and post-punk, no-wave, krautrock, ambient, electronic and the avant garde.”

The news of these record sales coincide with the release of a new album, entitled Spirit Counsel from his current music project, Thurston Moore Group. In addition, a 3xCD box set of Moore’s “epic instrumental pieces” is set for release on September 21st via the Daydream Library Series.

Unfortunately, the event will not be matched digitally so to take part, you’ll have to head down to the record store at 128 Columbia Road in London.

Moore also recently released a cover of New Order’s Leave Me Alone with help from a bunch of musicians from Manchester. Check it out below.
