New York-based rock band Vampire Weekend have decided to expand their creative horizons, this time trying their hand at the culinary arts. The band have released their own signature taco called the ‘Vegetarian Weekend’, a bold collab with HomeState, a Texas-style kitchen based in Los Angeles.
All of the proceeds will be donated to PATH, a non-profit organisation working to end homelessness in California.
Vampire Weekend are expanding their creative horizons by creating a vegetarian taco, with all proceeds going to non-profit organisation PATH.
The taco particularly appeals to veg lovers with shiitake mushrooms, guac and cotija cheese headlining a list of ingredients wrapped around an organic corn tortilla.
The taco is priced at $5 US and will be sold up until the end of October. Get in early because the first five customers to purchase a Vegetarian Weekend from each of HomeState’s three California branches will receive a limited addition Vampire Weekend poster.
The Vegetarian Weekend comes after the band’s long-awaited new LP, Father of the Bride, was released earlier in the year. The release garnered widespread critical acclaim with the likes of Rolling Stone Magazine declaring the LP a “masterpiece.”
Musically speaking, it seems like Vampire Weekend cannot put a foot wrong. Let’s see if the same can be said of their culinary adventures.
