ArchieMite is the brainchild of the Sydney based distillery, Archie Rose. They’ve won awards for their whiskeys, gins and vodkas, but now they’ve got something altogether different on their minds – a Vegemite on toast flavoured spirit.
Even actual Vegemite on toast divides opinion, but in hard liquor form? ArchieMite is an ungodly concoction of the controversial breakfast and a hangover from hell.
Here’s how the brave pioneers describe the flavour profile of the experimental brew:
“This unaged spirit has a big, mitey character at the front followed by biscuity, bready notes. On the palate you’re given a combination of all three elements coming together – buttery, almost warm, crisp-edged toast with that umami-rich, savoury mite flavour.”
Hey, actually sounds pretty good.
Luckily for us, they’ve included recipes for the Mitey Mary and the Espresso Mite-ini.
Anyway, if you are keen to partake, visit Archie Rose for more details. Only in ‘Straya.
