I just realised something, and it linguistically blew my dang ol’ mind. Just like how mono = one and rail = rail, I just realised that veloci = velocity and raptor = raptor. Velociraptors are dinosaurs that travel at a high velocity.
Velociraptor is also the full band experience of Brisbane’s most ubiquitous support act Jeremy Neale (seriously, have you ever seen a bill not supported by this dude?), who have just released a new single called Ramona. It’s a 3.14 minute lovelorn song about that girl that tugs at everyone’s Fortitude Valley heartstrings.
J. Neals’ band Velociraptor are bringing their hype ass single Ramona to a town near you.
A rock and roll song for a generation of kids who come home reeking of spilt Red Bull rather than Carlton Cold, the unabashed pop onslaught is getting it’s very own east coast tour.
By the time you read this, Velociraptor will already have torn up Paddo’s Unicorn Hotel with local ledges Donny Benet, The Knits and Adults and will be well on their way south to Melbourne to play at The Tote alongside Donny, Velcro and Going Swimming. Finally, the band will return home to Brizzy to perform at The Black Bear Lodge with fellow Brisboners The Good Sports and The Maryettas.
