Watch LCD Soundsystem’s incredible tribute to Angelo Badalamenti

LCD Soundsystem have paid tribute to the late composer Angelo Badalamenti with a cover of his Twin Peaks theme.

The Band surprised fans towards the end of a show at New York’s Brooklyn Steel by transitioning their track New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down into a cover of Angelo Badalamenti’s Twin Peaks theme Falling.

The revered composer and Grammy winner died due to natural causes earlier this month at the age of 85, surrounded by family at his New Jersey home according to a statement made by his niece to The Hollywood Reporter.

The celebrated composer’s career notably included writing the scores to David Lynch productions Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Lost Highway, The Straight Story, and Mullholland Drive, as well as writing songs for the likes of Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, and Shirley Bassey.

Badalamenti received numerous prestigious awards for his contributions to film and television soundtrack, including a Grammy in 1990, a World Soundtrack Awards lifetime achievement award in 2008, and a Henry Mancini award in 2011, the lattermost of which was presented to him by Lynch.
