We All Drive’s new single ‘Chalk’ is an all-out assault of thrashy glory

I struggle to recall a two-piece band capable of creating as much of a loud, chaotic explosion as Gold Coast duo We All Drive. In a relatively short amount of time, the band have crafted a sound that bursts at the seams with thrashy charm; it’s brutal and hard-hitting, but still cuts through with memorable hooks.

With the release of their new single Chalk, the group continue to establish their penchant for delivering these catchy and chaotic gems of sound. If you’re not already across this band, we strongly recommend you change that.

On their new single Chalk, We All Drive do not afford you time to stop and breathe; this is a sprint from start to finish – so you can either keep up, or fuck right off.

All throughout the new single, We All Drive stomp through a blistering concoction of garage punk and thrash-pop, delivering something uniquely their own. With huge, flailing melodies, crunching guitar tones, and thunderous percussion, Chalk will smack you right in the face – but rest assured, you’ll come back asking for more.

Clocking in at nearly four minutes, the tune is an all-out assault from start to finish: the frenzied chords never waver, and the wild vocals never hold back. This, however, is the track’s most captivating quality. By the time the track reaches its conclusion, you’ll have been roped in completely by its unfaltering power.

These are still relatively early days for this Gold Coast band, but judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes.

In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new track above.
